Welcome to Kylemore!

Top of the morning to you, and as I learned, the proper response is: "The rest of the day to yourself"!

The cruise on the Connemara Lady on Friday was just beautiful, and so relaxing! We were greeted on the cruise with a complimentary Irish coffee - it was the best thus far! Then we cruised around the beautiful mountains of Connemara. The group toured Killary Harbor and viewed Ireland's only fjord - it was breathtaking!

After the cruise, we went off to Kylemore Abbey, a 19th century neo-Gothic mansion overlooking Kylemore Lake. Kylemore Abbey's chapel and Victoria gardens have won awards - words can't describe the beauty of the Abbey and the gardens.

Fortunately, I have my camera!

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped at a marble store, where we saw beautiful items made out of marble and learned how marble is cut into beautiful pieces.

Finally, when the group came back to the hotel, some rested up before dinner, while some shopped their way through the streets of Galway. Also, throughout the streets of Galway, you will find rows and rows of Irish pubs with great music and friendly Irish faces.

As I write this, it is Saturday, and we have a long drive to the Cliffs of Moher and Killarney. Stay tuned to the blog for the details of today's adventures!
